Harriet Tubman escaped from slavery in 1849, and became a"conductor" on the Underground Railroad and a pioneer of freedom. This 60” x 72” silhouette is composed of 7,000 tiny working compasses, superimposed over Andrew Jackson's face on the twenty-dollar bill. The compasses and a constellation of diamonds suggest "direction.
